Diseminasi Pemanfaatan Limbah Plastik melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan Paving guna Menunjang Konsep Sekolah Hijau

Abstract

Plastic pollution is one of the problems of the modern era caused by economic growth and population growth. The presence of plastic pollution can result in ecological damage through physical, chemical, and biological impacts. Therefore, we need a solution to reduce the impact of plastic waste. Pavers are an example of products made from plastic waste. Information dissemination is needed so that plastic utilization can be carried out properly. Schools are one of the best places to disseminate information about using plastic to make pavers. This led to the implementation of a training program on producing pavers from plastic waste at SMKN 1 Surabaya. The training included classroom instruction and hands-on paver production. The results showed that 40 participants took part in the activity, which proceeded smoothly. Participants successfully produced several pavers from plastic mixtures. Producing pavers from plastic waste is expected to increase the value of plastic waste and promote a circular economy at SMKN 1 Surabaya. The activity concluded with the handover of a set of paver-making tools to the school.
