Sosialisasi Manfaat Limbah Batubara (Fly Ash) Untuk Mendukung Industri Ramah Lingkungan

Abstract

Fly ash is a by-product of coal combustion in Steam Power Plants (PLTU) which is generally considered an environmental problem if not managed properly. Currently, waste from the coal combustion process at the Paiton PLTU produces around 350-400 tons of fly ash per day. As part of the efforts and strategic steps in supporting sustainable development and environmentally friendly industries. Socialization steps are needed regarding fly ash as a useful material for paving block mixtures. PT Humatama Karya Sejahtera, located in Gambiran District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province, is a company that produces paving blocks which is the target partner. Socialization of the use of fly ash was carried out with partners with a total of ten participants. The implementation of the activity was carried out using a participatory method which was attended by partner employees, lecturers, and students who were directly involved in the process. From the results of the socialization activities carried out, one of the benefits of fly ash as a mixture for making paving blocks has been conveyed. Then paving blocks were made with a mixture of fly ash. With this socialization, it is also hoped that the industry can utilize fly ash to support environmentally friendly and efficient industries.
