Pelatihan Pengelolaan Keuangan Mandiri Guna Mewujudkan Ketahanan Ekonomi Masyarakat Wilayah Pesisir

Abstract

Coastal communities possess considerable economic potential through fisheries-based microenterprises. However, limited entrepreneurial competencies and financial management skills often hinder business development and household economic resilience. This community service program aimed to provide entrepreneurship and basic financial management training for coastal communities in Cumpat Village, Bulak District, Surabaya, Indonesia, to support household economic resilience. The participants consisted of fishermen and fishermen's wives who either owned or had the potential to develop fisheries-based businesses. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training was delivered through lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and practical exercises covering business development, simple financial recordkeeping, and product pricing strategies for processed seafood products. Throughout the program, participants actively engaged in the training activities and demonstrated strong enthusiasm during discussions and practical sessions. The training materials were considered relevant to the participants' needs as they were closely aligned with their daily economic activities. This community service activity is expected to serve as an initial step in strengthening the capacity of coastal communities to manage their businesses more systematically while supporting household economic resilience through the utilization of local resources.
